Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo: "Airlines with Poor Maintenance Should Be Fully Investigated and License Revoked"
Hong Joon-pyo, the mayor of Daegu, asserted on the 30th that airlines with serious aircraft maintenance issues should have their licenses revoked.
On the morning of the same day, Mayor Hong stated on Facebook, "At this point, I hope the relevant authorities conduct a thorough investigation of airlines with poor aircraft maintenance and consider revoking their licenses."
Mayor Hong said, "We can no longer overlook the reality where poorly managed airlines, which have increased rapidly like mushrooms after rain, threaten passenger safety. Didn’t one airline cause trouble long ago due to the unfair employment of Moon Jae-in’s son-in-law, who had no expertise?" emphasizing the need for license revocation repeatedly.
