Gangbuk-gu Mayor Lee Soon-hee "Joining in Mourning for Jeju Air Disaster... Sunrise Event Canceled"
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 30th that it will fully cancel the "2025 Eulsa Year Gangbuk Sunrise Event," which was scheduled to be held at Cheongundapwon in Buk Seoul Dream Forest on January 1st next year, to mourn the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster at Muan International Airport.
District Mayor Lee Soon-hee said, "I pray for the repose of the victims who lost their precious lives in this accident and offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families," adding, "We ask for the understanding of all residents regarding the cancellation of the sunrise event and wish everyone a safe and healthy New Year."

Gangbuk-gu has held a sunrise event with residents around Buk Seoul Dream Forest on the first day of the new year. Although about 500 residents were expected to participate in this year's event, the decision was made to mourn the victims of this disaster and share the grief with the bereaved families.
