View original imageThe Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) announced on the 29th that it will hold the '2025 New Year's Greeting Meeting' at the KCCI Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, on January 3rd next year.
The economic New Year's greeting meeting is the largest New Year's event in the economic sector, where figures from the economy, politics, government, and labor sectors gather to exchange well-wishes and greetings. It has been held annually since 1962, marking its 63rd edition this year.
The KCCI explained, "Generally, the New Year's greeting meeting is an occasion centered around the incumbent president exchanging well-wishes," adding, "This time, with the meaning of overcoming economic uncertainties together, economic leaders have expressed a stronger willingness to attend than in other years, making it a meeting to reaffirm their determination for growth."
About 500 figures from various sectors, including business leaders representing our economy such as Choi Tae-won, Chairman of KCCI and SK Group, heads of economic organizations, political figures, media representatives, and foreign diplomats stationed in Korea, will attend the event to share their resolve to overcome the economic crisis and achieve a new leap forward.
The KCCI has sent invitations to major conglomerate chairpersons such as Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, and Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG Group, and is currently awaiting their RSVPs. Attendance confirmations are expected to be finalized early next week.
In addition, attendance has been confirmed from presidents of regional chambers of commerce such as Yang Jae-saeng, President of Busan Chamber of Commerce, Park Yoon-kyung, President of Daegu Chamber of Commerce, Park Joo-bong, President of Incheon Chamber of Commerce, and Jung Tae-hee, President of Daejeon Chamber of Commerce. Heads of economic organizations including Ryu Jin, Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries, Yoon Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Sohn Kyung-shik, Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation, and Choi Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs will also attend.
