'Korean Literature as World Literature', Distribution to Public, University, and Specialized Libraries Nationwide
Professor Ha Sang-il of the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Dong-Eui University’s book, Korean Literature as World Literature, has been selected as a “2024 Sejong Book Recommended Academic Publication” by the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency.

View original imageChosen in the literature category, Korean Literature as World Literature explores Korean literature influenced by the era of colonization and liberation, as well as the East Asian context including Japan and China, from the perspective of world literature. It has been recognized as an important foundational work for properly establishing the viewpoint of Korean literary history and conducting comparative studies of Korean literature from a world literature perspective.
The “Sejong Book Recommended Academic Publication” is annually reviewed and selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency to encourage domestic authors’ creativity, foster the publishing industry, and enhance the national reading culture.

For 2024, a total of 363 titles across 10 categories including general works, philosophy/psychology/ethics, natural sciences, and literature were finally selected, and the chosen books will be distributed to public, university, and specialized libraries nationwide.
