Provincial Office of Education Plans to Operate 'Pre-Enrollment Freshman Parent Education' in February 2025
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) has begun systematic preparations to support the operation of parent education for new students in the 2025 academic year. This is to help parents, as educational partners supporting student growth and schools, share the policies and goals of Gyeonggi education.

These materials (webzines) were prepared to support parents of students transitioning between kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school levels in adapting to new school life. Materials for middle and high schools will be distributed in early January next year.
The guidebook contains content on understanding children's developmental characteristics and the role of parents, as directly explained by current teachers, as well as the curriculum and school life details for each school level. It is accessible online and can also be viewed on mobile phones.
In addition, a specialized instructor pool for new student parent education has been established to support schools. The instructor group consists of retired teachers with extensive educational experience (including former master teachers, principals, and education superintendents) who will provide detailed guidance on overall school curriculum operation and the roles and responsibilities of parents as part of the educational community.
Furthermore, the Office plans to operate a "Pre-Enrollment New Student Parent Education Week" in February 2025. Key educational policies and curricula by school level will be delivered through face-to-face lectures and live broadcasts (via the Office’s YouTube channel) to address new student parents' questions.
Gu Soon-yi, Director of the Administrative Capacity Policy Division at the Office, stated, "Providing abundant educational materials is necessary for parents taking their first steps into new school life with their children’s enrollment," adding, "We will actively support various parent education programs to enhance parents’ understanding of schools and to work together for the happy growth of their children."
