Icheon City Secures 86.8 Billion KRW in National and Provincial Funds This Year... 2.3 Times More Than Last Year
On the 27th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it secured 86.8 billion KRW in national and provincial funds through 72 public contest projects led by the central government and Gyeonggi Province this year. This is 2.3 times an increase compared to 37.1 billion KRW last year, marking the highest amount ever.
The national and provincial funds secured this year are allocated by sector as follows: ▲486 billion KRW for stable tap water supply ▲21.4 billion KRW for education and sports ▲5.4 billion KRW for residential environment improvement ▲4.64 billion KRW for transportation infrastructure development ▲2.7 billion KRW for agricultural innovation ▲2.7 billion KRW for health and welfare ▲600 million KRW for regional economic revitalization ▲420 million KRW for culture and tourism promotion.
The city explained that these achievements were made possible through initiatives such as the 'National and Provincial Fund Acquisition Capacity Enhancement Training' started in February, the production of the 'National and Provincial Fund Public Contest Project Guidebook,' and the 'National and Provincial Fund Public Contest Project Discovery Report Meeting.' The city added that communication with Song Seok-jun, a member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party, central government ministries, and Gyeonggi Province, as well as close cooperation with city and provincial council members, laid the foundation for securing the budget.
