Mokpo University and Gachon University Join Hands to Foster Semiconductor Talent
Enhancing Semiconductor Competitiveness... Contributing to National Industrial Development
The Compound Semiconductor Center at Mokpo National University (President: Song Hacheol) announced on the 27th that it has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the System Semiconductor Design Talent Cultivation Project Group at Gachon University. The agreement aims to foster talent and strengthen the competitiveness of the national semiconductor industry.
The main purpose of this agreement is to cultivate professionals in the semiconductor field and to discover and support technical talent through close cooperation between the two institutions. Through this collaboration, the competitiveness of the domestic semiconductor industry will be further enhanced, contributing to the development of both the regional and national industries.

View original imageThe two institutions plan to cooperate in various areas, including the exchange of semiconductor talent training programs, joint utilization of practical training and research infrastructure, and fostering talent through the exchange of students and researchers. Additional necessary collaborative matters will also be pursued. This partnership is expected to accelerate technological advancement and the discovery of professional talent in the semiconductor sector.
The System Semiconductor Design Talent Cultivation Project Group at Gachon University is responsible for developing semiconductor-related educational programs and providing infrastructure support, while the Compound Semiconductor Center at Mokpo National University supports the discovery and training of local talent. The two institutions will regularly review progress and strengthen their cooperative framework. The agreement is valid for three years and may be amended by mutual agreement if necessary.
Jeon Heeseok, Director of the Compound Semiconductor Center, stated, "This agreement is a good example of cooperation between regional and metropolitan universities, and we expect it will contribute to the development of the national industry by fostering semiconductor talent based in local areas."
Meanwhile, the Compound Semiconductor Center at Mokpo National University is located in Muan-gun, Jeonnam, and is dedicated to strengthening the local industry and educational infrastructure. With this agreement, research and educational capabilities in the semiconductor field are expected to be further enhanced.
