Kwon Seong-dong, Acting Leader and Floor Leader of the People Power Party, asserted that the Democratic Party of Korea should respect Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deok-su's authority to exercise the right to request reconsideration (veto power) on the dual special investigation law (the Special Investigation Law on Treason and the Special Investigation Law on Kim Geon-hee).

He added, "Former President Roh Moo-hyun, who was from the Democratic Party, also exercised veto power on the special investigation laws regarding secret remittances to North Korea and corruption among presidential aides." He emphasized, "At that time, former President Roh stated that prosecutorial investigation and prosecution rights are inherent government powers under the Constitution, and special investigations are exceptionally allowed only to supplement or complement when the prosecution evades investigation or the investigation results are insufficient."
Acting Leader Kwon stated, "This principle of special investigations is a constitutional spirit that everyone, regardless of party, must abide by," and added, "The Democratic Party's unconstitutional and illegal dual special investigation law is tantamount to a resignation letter from constitutional governance. It must be withdrawn immediately."
Kwon claimed that the Democratic Party is pushing the dual special investigation law to cover up the judicial risks of its leader, Lee Jae-myung. He pointed out, "The dual special investigation law is merely a political campaign by the Democratic Party in preparation for an early presidential election," and "If an early presidential election occurs, they will continue to leak investigation details of the dual special investigations to divert public attention away from Lee Jae-myung's judicial risks."
Acting Leader Kwon also argued that the won-dollar exchange rate surpassing 1,470 won was due to the Democratic Party's push for impeachment against Acting President Han. He said, "Thanks to Han's efforts, diplomatic relations with the U.S. and Japan have been normalized, which has properly defended the exchange rate and foreign exchange market credibility," but "due to the impeachment motion against Han, the situation is heading back toward a crisis."

Kwon further stated, "According to economic experts, if the exchange rate exceeds 1,500 won per dollar, a second foreign exchange crisis will occur," and urged, "The Democratic Party should immediately stop the self-destructive impeachment against Acting President Han and promptly withdraw the impeachment motion for the future of the Republic of Korea."
