Seosan Police Station Creates Safe Route Home in Dongmundong Area
Solar Wall Lights Installed in Three Zones Including Crime-Prone Areas
Based on a crime prevention inspection conducted earlier this month in the Dongmundong area, the Seosan Police Station in South Chungcheong Province has launched a nighttime lighting improvement project, including the installation of solar-powered wall lights, which has received a positive response.
According to Seosan Police Station on the 25th, a consultative group consisting of the police station's crime prevention team, local community leaders, and the installation company conducted an on-site survey, selected three areas vulnerable to crime due to darkness, and installed solar-powered wall lights that automatically turn on when residents pass by.
The Dongmundong area has many narrow and dark alleyways, making it difficult for residents to move around freely at night. However, with this lighting improvement project, it is expected that residents will now have a safer route home even after dark.
Chief Koo Jamyeon stated, "We are pleased to have installed solar-powered wall lights so that residents can walk with peace of mind," and added, "We will continue to do our best to prevent crime by conducting ongoing crime prevention inspections and installing additional security facilities as needed."
