Chosun University Hospital Rated 'Best' in Stomach, Lung, and Colorectal Cancer Appropriateness Evaluation
Chosun University Hospital (Director Kim Jin-ho) announced on the 24th that it received the highest grade, Grade 1, in all categories?stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, and lung cancer?in the first evaluation of the second cycle of cancer adequacy assessments conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA).
HIRA has been conducting cancer adequacy assessments to identify the current state of cancer treatment, the leading cause of death in Korea, and to improve the quality and efficiency of medical services.
This cancer adequacy assessment targeted inpatients at advanced and general hospitals nationwide from July 2022 to June last year. The main evaluation indicators included ▲ the rate of multidisciplinary care for cancer patients ▲ the proportion of severe cases among surgical patients ▲ the rate of educational counseling provided to cancer patients.
Chosun University Hospital was recognized as an outstanding medical institution, achieving scores of 91.37 for stomach cancer, 90.25 for colorectal cancer, and 92.5 for lung cancer, all surpassing the national averages of 89.41, 86.68, and 91.09, respectively.
