Seoul Metro and Seoul Facilities Corporation announced on the 24th that they conducted a ‘Subway Usage Promotion Joint Campaign’ on the 23rd at the transfer parking lot of Bokjeong Station on Line 8 to encourage citizens to use the subway.

The Bokjeong Station transfer parking lot had 4,376 annual season ticket users as of December this year, of which 2,771 used the transfer parking lot before taking the subway. This is the transfer parking lot with the highest number of season ticket users among the seven transfer parking lots near subways operated by the corporation.
There are a total of seven subway transfer parking lots in Seoul: Gaehwasan Station, Gaehwa Station, Gupabal Station, Dobongsan Station, Bokjeong Station, Sinbanghwa Station, and Cheonwang Station. These subway transfer parking lots are used by 23,397 people annually.
Along with this event, the corporation held a transportation card giveaway event for citizens using season tickets at the Bokjeong Station transfer parking lot. Among the eligible participants, 10 people will be selected by lottery to receive a transportation card preloaded with 30,000 KRW.

Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, said, “We hope that citizens commuting to and from downtown Seoul will efficiently use the transfer parking lots and subway, which will help alleviate downtown traffic congestion.” He added, “The corporation plans to continue promoting various cooperative projects with related organizations to improve the subway usage environment and enhance citizen convenience.”
