Toss Opens 'Face Entry' at Concert Venues... First Debut at TWS Fan Meeting in February Next Year
Viva Republica, the operator of the mobile financial service Toss, announced on the 23rd that it will launch the 'Face Entry' service using facial recognition technology in the performance sector. Face Entry refers to a service where users register their facial information in advance and then authenticate their identity by face when entering a specific location.
The first application of the Face Entry service will be at the TWS (Tours) fan meeting held from February 14 to 16 next year at the Handball Stadium in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Fans who have pre-registered their facial information can quickly enter through the facial recognition gate. This will significantly reduce waiting times and enhance convenience by eliminating the need for separate ticket and ID verification procedures.
Toss stated that facial information is securely managed on a separate server in encrypted form and that the database is only used during identity verification.
Earlier, in August, Toss signed an MOU with Interpark Triple and HYBE to introduce facial authentication solutions in the performance sector. They agreed to collaborate by launching Interpark Triple’s 'Face Pass' based on Toss Face Entry and utilizing it for HYBE concert ticket reservations.
A Toss representative said, "We expect Toss Face Entry, which combines safety, convenience, and accuracy, to become a leading example in the performance sector as well. After expanding its use from airports to concert halls, we plan to broaden the service application to various areas such as exhibition centers and apartment communities."
