Kim Dong-yeon Sends 'Gyeonggi Tourism Promotion Letter' to Over 50 Travel Agencies in 10 Countries: "Safe After Martial Law"
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, who sent letters to more than 2,500 foreign leaders following the emergency martial law situation, has now sent letters to major travel agencies to attract overseas tourists.
According to Gyeonggi Province on the 23rd, Governor Kim Dong-yeon sent letters on the 20th to 50 travel agencies in 10 countries, including Trip.com (China), JTB (Japan), and KlooK (Hong Kong), urging strengthened cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and the respective travel agencies.
In the letter, Governor Kim stated, "South Korea is overcoming political changes in the fastest and most democratic way. Since the impeachment was passed, citizens have been living their vibrant daily lives as usual," adding, "South Korea’s democracy is solid, and the economy is strong. Gyeonggi Province remains a joyful and safe travel destination. All 14.1 million residents of Gyeonggi Province are always ready to warmly welcome you."
He continued, "Gyeonggi Province has established a thorough safety management system for travelers and maintains an environment where tourists can enjoy their trips with peace of mind," emphasizing, "Your travelers can fully enjoy Korea’s culture, including beautiful nature, K-food, K-pop, and K-beauty. We maintain top-quality services such as guidance, transportation, and accommodation facilities. If there are any needs in planning Gyeonggi tourism, we will provide maximum support and cooperation."

First, it plans to invest 30 billion won in special funds to help the tourism industry overcome the crisis, as well as promote industry revitalization through early execution of tourism project budgets and provision of welfare points by 2025.
Additionally, from January to February next year, the Gyeonggi Tourism Grand Festa will be held in China, Japan, Southeast Asia, and other regions to actively attract tourists locally.

Kim Sang-soo, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, said, "We plan to strengthen communication with the tourism industry by closely identifying their difficulties and continuously monitoring overseas tourism trends to implement support measures," promising, "We will actively support the tourism industry so that it can quickly overcome the crisis situation."
