Gwangju Office of Education Announces 'Five Major Education Policies' for Next Year
Diversity, Responsibility, Fairness, Future, Coexistence, etc.
Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education held a briefing session on next year's major work plans on the 20th.
This session was attended by over 1,000 participants, including school principals and heads of major institutions, to share the achievements of Gwangju education this year and to announce policy directions for the coming year.
The event proceeded in the following order: an introduction of major achievements in 2024, a keynote lecture by Superintendent Lee Jeongseon titled "Competence Builds Essence. We Move Toward the Future!", and a presentation of the five major policy initiatives for Gwangju education in 2025.

View original imageThe five major policy initiatives for next year are: ▲Diversity education that realizes everyone's dreams ▲Responsible education that nurtures life skills ▲Fair education that serves as a ladder of hope ▲Future education where imagination becomes reality ▲Coexistence education where everyone becomes a leader. In addition, Gwangju education will focus on four core areas?'Diverse Competence,' 'Warm Character,' 'Global Foundation to the World,' and 'Digital Foundation to the Future'?and promote 16 key projects within these domains.
Superintendent Lee stated, "In 2025, we will continue to support students with various policies so that they can learn and grow properly through education and realize their dreams," adding, "We will strive to ensure that, following the Nobel Peace Prize and Nobel Literature Prize, the first Korean recipient of the Nobel Prize in Science will come from Gwangju."
