Busan Gijang-gun Allocates 779.7 Billion Won for Next Year's Main Budget... Focus on Delivering Tangible Results for Residents
General Account 724.9 Billion KRW, Special Account 54.8 Billion KRW, Enhancing Residents' Quality of Life and Advancing Current Projects
Completion of Long-Standing Projects Including Jeonggwan Edu Park, Ilgwang Education Happiness Town, and Ilgwang-eup Administrative Welfare Center
Busan Gijang-gun has finalized its 2025 main budget at 779.7 billion KRW.
Gijang-gun has focused its next year’s main budget on improving the quality of life for residents and revitalizing the local economy, while also reflecting project costs to complete major long-standing projects such as Jeonggwan Edu Park, Ilgwang Education Happiness Town, and Ilgwang-eup Administrative Welfare Center, concentrating on creating tangible results for the residents.
Additionally, the increase in current expenses was minimized as much as possible, unnecessary budgets were boldly cut to secure fiscal soundness, and limited funds were allocated rationally and strategically to essential projects for the residents.
The size of the main budget by account for next year is 724.9 billion KRW for the general account, an increase of 6.4 billion KRW compared to the previous year, and 54.8 billion KRW for the special account, a decrease of 25.1 billion KRW. Various projects aimed at realizing “Gijang, a city embracing happiness and opening the future” centered on the five major administrative goals were included.
First, to “expand resident convenience facilities as spaces for rest, education, and culture,” the budget includes △Gijang-gun Tennis Stadium Construction Project 16.4 billion KRW △Ilgwang Amusement Park Construction Project 7.8 billion KRW △Gijang-gun National Sports Center Maintenance and Repair 1 billion KRW, as well as △Jeonggwan Edu Park (Library and Living Culture Center) Construction 10.5 billion KRW △Ilgwang Education Happiness Town (Library and Living Culture Center) Construction 5.7 billion KRW △Ilgwang Urban Regeneration New Deal Recognized Project (Ilgwang-eup Administrative Welfare Center) 2.5 billion KRW.
For “a safe and healthy Gijang where residents can live,” the budget includes △Gijang Residents’ Health Promotion Support Project 1.2 billion KRW △Old Reservoir Maintenance 800 million KRW △Old Streetlight and Track Replacement Project 1.2 billion KRW △Cheolma-myeon Welfare Center Remodeling Construction 1 billion KRW.
Major projects for “Gijang, the nation’s top premium resort harmonized with nature” include △Ilgwangsan Morning Sunshine Garden Forest Landscape Project 700 million KRW △Hongryudong Reservoir Waterfront Space Creation 500 million KRW △Hinoki Cypress Forest Hydrangea Garden Creation 500 million KRW △Jwagwangcheon Waterfront Space Creation Project 1.8 billion KRW.
For “Gijang with revitalized local commerce and abundant quality jobs,” the budget includes △Southeast Radiation Medical and Science General Industrial Complex Construction 7 billion KRW △Senior Job and Social Activity Support 9.3 billion KRW △Self-Support Work Project 3.6 billion KRW △Agricultural and Fishery Worker Allowance 600 million KRW, which are expected to contribute to social stability and strengthen the county’s competitiveness.
For development into “Gijang, a transportation hub with various transport modes and a wide-area transportation network,” the budget includes △Basic Feasibility Study for Additional Station on Donghae Line 200 million KRW △Road Expansion and Paving Construction between Daeri and Jungri 3 billion KRW △Urban Planning Road (Jung3-352 Line) Development around Gijang Station 1.5 billion KRW △Road Expansion between Jangan Jwacheon Samgeori and Dongbusan Nonghyup 1 billion KRW △Jeonggwan Sanmak Village Urban Planning Road (So1-139 Line) Development 1 billion KRW △Installation of Round Overpass for Entrance Lane to Ilgwang New Town 800 million KRW.
In particular, national and city subsidies were increased by 5.1 billion KRW from the previous year to 323.3 billion KRW, with major projects including fishing port facility maintenance (national subsidy 2 billion KRW, city subsidy 200 million KRW) and Ilgwang Amusement Park Climate Response Urban Forest Creation (national subsidy 500 million KRW, city subsidy 200 million KRW).
