View original imageSeoul conducts an annual traffic demand management evaluation targeting 25 autonomous districts to alleviate traffic congestion and realize low-carbon green transportation. The evaluation criteria consist of 11 detailed indicators across four areas: traffic generation charges, corporate traffic demand management, focused traffic demand management, and traffic policy discovery and city administration cooperation. The district received uniformly high scores in most evaluation indicators, with particularly high recognition for its contribution to traffic volume reduction.
Since 2011, the district has systematically managed traffic volume reduction programs to respond to the increasing traffic due to the development of the Magok area. In addition to regular programs such as operating commuter buses and implementing vehicle restriction days, the district continuously discovered customized programs for each company through on-site inspections and corporate consulting. Notably, the resolution of congestion issues at the Ddareungi bike rental stations in Magok, which has the highest Ddareungi usage rate in Seoul through private collaboration, stood out.
With the activation of the Magok Industrial Complex leading to a significant increase in Ddareungi usage, the district began consultations with private land-providing companies and the Seoul Facilities Corporation from 2023, resulting in the expansion of Ddareungi rental stations.

District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, “The results of systematically managing the increasing traffic volume as the development of the Magok area nears completion have been recognized in this evaluation. Since traffic issues are directly related to residents' quality of life, we will continue to collaborate with private companies to ensure residents do not experience inconvenience.”
