Geumcheon-gu Selected as an Outstanding Local Government for Youth Growth Support Project
'School In and Out Youth Growth Support Project' Awarded Chairman's Prize by Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency
Recognized for Operating Various Youth Growth Support Programs
Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it was selected as an outstanding local government in the ‘2024 In and Out of School Community Youth Growth Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and received the Chairman’s Award from the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency.
The ‘In and Out of School Community Youth Growth Support Project’ is a public contest project hosted and organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Youth Policy Institute. It was established to build a cooperative system within the community to respond to the complex policy demands of youth and to systematize support related to youth growth.
The district received high praise for opening new possibilities through customized support encompassing youth both in and out of school and community-linked activities.
Centering on the Doksan Youth Culture House, the district has been operating various youth growth support programs from April to November this year, striving to build networks between youth and the community.
In particular, through the Geumcheon-gu Youth Growth Support Council, the district strengthened public-private cooperation and promoted various joint projects such as the ‘N Forums’ and the ‘Geumcheon-gu Youth Union Festival,’ expanding youth social participation.
