Jeju Air's 10 Years of Service to Vietnam... Steep Growth Every Year
850,000 People from January to November This Year... 80% Growth Compared to Previous Year
Jeju Air, the first domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) to operate flights to Vietnam, has marked its 10th anniversary of service to Vietnam. Excluding the COVID-19 period, the number of passengers has steadily increased every year, contributing to the era of 10 million travelers to Vietnam.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Aviation Information Portal on the 18th, the number of passengers on Vietnam routes from January to November this year was 9,698,678. This figure is close to the record high of 9,779,358 in 2019. If the current trend continues, this year is expected to break the all-time record again. From 2014 to 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the average annual passenger growth rate was 29.3%.
Jeju Air first launched the Incheon?Hanoi route in December 2014, becoming the first low-cost carrier (LCC) to operate this route. Since then, it has expanded its routes to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc. Currently, it operates 56 weekly flights to five cities, the most among Korean carriers. From January to November this year, Jeju Air transported 855,203 passengers on Korea?Vietnam routes, an increase of 79.9% compared to the same period last year.
As demand increases for the warm Vietnam routes during winter, Jeju Air is holding a special fare event until the 24th. Tickets for travel between January 1 and March 29 next year are available starting from a one-way total fare of 80,800 KRW. More details can be found on Jeju Air’s official website.
