Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation (President Min Kyung-sun) held an interim report meeting on the "Feasibility Study for Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation's Participation in Railway Projects" on the 17th at the corporation's training center to discuss the progress of the research project and future plans.

View original imageAbout 20 participants, including railway officials from the province, cities, and counties, as well as advisory committee members of the corporation, attended the meeting to share the progress of the research project that began in March. The main discussion topics included ▲ the purpose and role of establishing Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation ▲ plans for participation in railway projects ▲ selection of target lines and strategy formulation.
This research project will continue until May 2025, reviewing the role and feasibility of a specialized railway public corporation and preparing for systematic participation in railway operation and management projects, which is a key founding purpose of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, based on the results of the study.
Min Kyung-sun, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, stated, “The corporation’s role is becoming increasingly important in line with the new era of Gyeonggi-do railways that connect new opportunities,” adding, “We will actively explore new railway business areas such as railway system engineering (SE) projects and operating tram driving training institutions, as well as existing urban and metropolitan railway operations.”
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation has signed memorandums of understanding to establish cooperative systems with Incheon Transportation Corporation (June 2021), Daegu Transportation Corporation (May 2023), and Daejeon Transportation Corporation (January 204), and in January this year, produced and distributed the '2024 Comprehensive Railway Work Manual' to support smooth railway operations in the province, cities, and counties.

Additionally, through continuous consultations with related organizations such as specialized organizations and personnel, the Gyeonggi Province Metropolitan Transportation Committee, and cities and counties, efforts are being made to establish an integrated railway operation system within Gyeonggi-do.
