Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Hosts Short-Term Overseas Training Outcome Sharing Session for Future Education Implementation

Enhancing Social Responsibility for Official Overseas Training to Strengthen Quality of Overseas Training Programs
Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) held the "Short-term Overseas Training Performance Sharing Meeting for Realizing Future Education" on the 17th at the Southern Office. The purpose was to prepare for changes in the new future education environment and to strengthen the policy linkage of short-term overseas training.
The 2024 short-term overseas training for realizing future education was operated in a public recruitment format regardless of job type or rank. A total of 20 teams with 204 participants (100 teachers, 94 general staff, and 10 public officials) participated, conducting training in 14 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The event was attended by about 100 education staff interested in short-term overseas training, including those from the Provincial Office of Education, education support offices, affiliated institutions, and schools. Attendees listened to country-specific cases on various themes experienced during previous official overseas training and discussed the future direction for the development of Gyeonggi education.
The presentation topics at the performance sharing meeting included ▲ Establishment of an AI platform for diagnosing and certifying Gyeonggi-type teacher competencies ▲ Strengthening personality, civic education, and protection systems for educational activities ▲ Universal design plans for special education policies ▲ Qualitative enhancement and field stabilization plans for Neulbom ▲ Successful establishment of Gyeonggi-type IB (International Baccalaureate) schools ▲ Installation and operation plans for shared schools for special education students.
The Provincial Office of Education expects that the operation of official overseas training will help public officials proactively respond to the rapidly changing educational environment and fulfill their roles as leaders.

Gu Soon-yi, Director of the Administrative Capability Policy Division at the Provincial Office of Education, said, "This performance sharing meeting was organized to review the contents and achievements of the short-term overseas training project, strengthen the social responsibility of overseas training through policy suggestions on educational issues and sharing activation directions." She added, "In the future, we will strengthen training topics centered on key departmental development policies to proactively respond to changes in the new future education environment."
