SK Telecom to End Metaverse 'Ifland' Service by End of March Next Year
SK Telecom will terminate its social metaverse service 'ifland' on March 31 next year. This comes about four years after the service launched in 2021.
SK Telecom announced that it will fully refund all paid purchases until the termination date and support data backup such as photos and videos upon user request.
Refund applications will be processed through a separate application page, and detailed instructions will be provided later via the ifland application and website.
This decision is interpreted as SK Telecom's intention to invest more capital into AI as it shifts its focus to becoming a 'global artificial intelligence (AI) company.'
