African Swine Fever Outbreak in Yangju, Gyeonggi... 11th Case This Year
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for African Swine Fever (ASF) announced on the 16th that ASF has occurred at a pig farm in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province.
This ASF outbreak is the first in 43 days since the initial case on the 3rd of last month. It is the 11th confirmed case at pig farms this year.
The headquarters is controlling access to the farm and conducting disinfection and epidemiological investigations. Additionally, approximately 5,500 pigs raised at this farm will be culled.
To prevent transmission between farms, the headquarters has issued a temporary movement suspension order until 6 p.m. on the 18th for livestock facility workers and vehicles in Yangju-si and six adjacent cities and counties.

Meanwhile, Han Duck-soo, Acting President and Prime Minister, received a report on the ASF outbreak and issued an urgent directive to the relevant authorities to carry out quarantine measures without any setbacks.
