View original imageDuring this regular session, major agenda items included the review of the initial budget plan and fund operation plan for 2025, as well as the 3rd supplementary budget plan for 2024. A total of 17 city administration questions and supplementary questions were raised to address citizens' concerns and propose policy alternatives, demonstrating active legislative activities.
Looking at the main activities, after preliminary reviews of next year's budget by each standing committee and in-depth comprehensive review by the Budget and Accounts Special Committee, the budget for 9 projects across 5 departments was reduced by 1,253.2 million KRW and allocated to contingency funds. The '2025 General and Special Account Revenue and Expenditure Budget' was amended and approved at a total of 1,469,260,521,000 KRW. The '2025 Fund Operation Plan,' the '3rd Supplementary Budget Plan for 2024,' and the '2024 Fund Operation Plan' were approved as originally proposed.
Additionally, 21 items including the 'Gwangju City Investment and Contribution Institutions Cybersecurity Management Ordinance' were approved as originally proposed, while 7 items including the 'Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on Private Consignment of Gwangju City Administrative Affairs' were approved with modifications.
Notably, at the 2nd plenary session, all members of the Gwangju City Council adopted the 'Resolution to Restore the Original Plan to Reduce the Han River Watershed Fund Resident Support Project Budget,' strongly asserting the will of Gwangju citizens to the government.
