Gwangju City Strengthens Training on 'Understanding Carbon Neutrality' for New Public Officials
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 13th that it conducted carbon neutrality competency enhancement training aimed at achieving the 2050 Gwangju City carbon neutrality goal for new employees who joined since January 2023.

View original imageThis training was designed for new public officials to foster a culture of practicing carbon neutrality in the workplace and daily life in response to the climate crisis, covering topics from understanding climate change and greenhouse gases to Gwangju City's basic carbon neutrality plan.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Lee Seung-hoon from the Department of Environmental Energy Engineering at Anyang University under the theme "Understanding Carbon Neutrality," covering theories on climate change, national and Gwangju City greenhouse gas reduction targets, and the role of public officials.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, "This training provided an opportunity for new public officials to understand the seriousness of climate change and develop the capacity to respond," adding, "Our city will continue to actively strive to address climate change."
