Cheongyang County Selected as Outstanding Local Government for Youth Policy, Wins Prime Minister's Award
Cheongyang-gun, Chungnam Province, announced on the 13th that it received the Prime Minister's Award at the "2024 Outstanding Local Government Youth Policy Government Awards Ceremony" hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on the 12th.
The county collected and analyzed opinions from organizations such as the Youth Participation Committee for youth policy and reflected them in their projects.
Additionally, the county encouraged youth participation in policy formation through participatory organizations where youth propose policies, the "Integrated Briefing Session with the County Governor," and the "Youth Director System," which appoints youth as board members of the Youth Foundation.
In particular, the county was highly praised for initiatives such as on-site and outreach programs, implementation of the Youth Dream Nurturing Voucher, creation of youth healing spaces, and the establishment of the Jeongsan Cultural House, resulting in a significant increase in the youth policy budget ratio from 0.61% last year to 2.62% this year.
Furthermore, the county was recognized for fulfilling government policy tasks, launching the foundation, and for County Governor Kim Dongon’s active participation and support in youth projects and events.
Governor Kim said, "It is very meaningful as this is the result of efforts by both youth and stakeholders to make Cheongyang-gun a happier place for young people," and added, "We will continue to listen to the voices of youth and do our best to implement youth policies together with them for their healthy development."
