Ulsan Hana Kindergarten Director Hwang Gil-hyun Receives 13th Korea Education Donation Award from Minister of Education
Over 5 Years Since 2020, 160 Million KRW Scholarship Fund Donated to Ulsan Office of Education
Contributed to Expanding Educational Infrastructure by Donating a 3-Story Building in Bang-eo-dong in 2020
Hwang Gil-hyun, director of Hana Kindergarten in Dong-gu, Ulsan, received the Minister of Education Award at the '13th Korea Education Donation Awards' held on the 13th at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 in Ilsan.
Director Hwang was recognized for his contributions to the promotion of education donation.
The 'Korea Education Donation Awards' is presented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education to institutions, organizations, and individuals who have contributed to society through education donations, helping to spread the culture of education donation and boost the morale of related organizations.
The Ministry of Education comprehensively evaluates suitability for education donation, contribution to activation, and excellence in education donation activities to select awardees annually. This year, 18 institutions and 8 individuals were selected.
Following his mother's teaching to "live by giving to good causes," Director Hwang practices a life of generosity toward those around him.
Since 2020, he has donated 160 million KRW in scholarships to the Ulsan Office of Education over five years, supporting 285 low-income students. In 2020, he also donated a three-story building with a total area of 283㎡ in Bang-eo-dong for educational use, contributing to the expansion of educational infrastructure in the Dong-gu area.
He practices love for neighbors by providing cash and goods not only to the Office of Education but also throughout the local community.
