Naver Map Launches Passenger Ferry Route Finder Service... Provides Real-Time Sailing Information and Routes
Naver Maps announced on the 13th that it has launched a passenger ferry route search service in collaboration with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
Through this service, users can check information such as routes including passenger ferries on Naver Maps, as well as ▲pier and ticket office information ▲passenger ferry schedules ▲total travel time and fares provided by the Korea Shipping Association (KSA).
Additionally, users can view real-time passenger ferry operation status including normal operation, delays, and cancellations based on information provided by the Korea Maritime Safety Authority (KOMSA).
Naver and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last year and have continued to collaborate for the ESG (environment, social, governance) development in the marine and fisheries sectors.
Naver stated that through this passenger ferry information linkage, it expects to provide sailing information to users who wish to travel by coastal passenger ferries, such as residents of island areas and tourists visiting islands. In the future, Naver plans to support ferry ticket booking directly through Naver Maps.
Meanwhile, the passenger ferry route search service, including pier, terminal, and port names, is also supported in multiple languages such as English, Chinese, and Japanese.
