Hyundai Ioniq 5N Named 'High-Performance Car of the Year' in China
Mercedes-Benz and Lynk & Co Surpass Rivals with Overwhelming Scores
Hyundai Motor Company's high-performance electric vehicle Ioniq 5 N was selected as the High-Performance Car of the Year in the Chinese market.
Hyundai Motor announced on the 11th that the Ioniq 5 N won the 'High-Performance Car of the Year' category at the '2025 China Car of the Year Awards' held at the Lido Crown Plaza Hotel in Beijing, China.
The evaluation was conducted by 48 judges, including leading Chinese automotive journalists and influencers, covering a total of 112 models across 7 categories.
The Ioniq 5 N scored 211 points in the High-Performance Car category, significantly surpassing the 142 points of the Mercedes AMG C63 S E Performance and the 127 points of the Lynk & Co 03++.
Ahn Yong-il, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor China N Business Division, stated, "The N brand, which entered the Chinese market for the first time last year, is actively emphasizing Hyundai Motor's high-performance electrification technology through the Ioniq 5 N launched this year. We will continue to strive to strengthen Hyundai Motor's position in the Chinese market and provide a differentiated experience unique to the N brand."
The Ioniq 5 N is the first high-performance electric vehicle from the N brand. It concentrates advanced electrification technology based on Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP to maximize driving performance. Based on a high-performance all-wheel-drive system, it delivers a maximum output of 478 kW (650 horsepower, boost mode) and a maximum torque of 770 Nm (78.5 kgf·m, boost mode) from the combined front and rear motors.
