The main inspection points focused on ▲the safety status of facilities affected by heavy snow, strong winds, and cold waves ▲the use of temporary power during emergencies and inspection of vulnerable site facilities such as fire and suffocation risks ▲management status of heavy snow and icy sections around the construction site.
In particular, large construction sites are characterized by the busy movement of many workers and construction equipment, so it is essential to focus on identifying factors vulnerable to worker safety accidents and ensuring construction quality amid the temperature drops in winter.
Oh Hu-seok, Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, who led the site inspection, stated, “Although recent weather anomalies such as heavy snow and strong winds have made working conditions difficult, since numerous equipment and personnel are deployed at railway construction sites, all construction stakeholders must remain vigilant and do their best.”
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province conducted a ‘Winter Safety Management Inspection’ at railway sites from November 11 to November 20. As a result of the comprehensive inspection, 99 issues were identified, of which 95 have been resolved and 4 are currently being addressed.
