View original imageOn the 10th, Gwangju City held the '50+ Together Festival' at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, attended by over 350 people including the middle-aged generation and related organization officials.
Hosted by the Bitgoeul 50+ Center, the event was held under the theme of 'Together Healing,' sharing various achievements of middle-aged policies throughout the year and creating a festival where the middle-aged and policy officials support and encourage each other.
The festival began with a performance by the middle-aged community club 'Inhwa C Kalimba,' followed by a one-year achievement video screening, commendations for meritorious persons, presentations of participant achievements at the Bitgoeul 50+ Center, and healing performances with 50+ Center middle-aged members.
As of 2023, the middle-aged population (ages 45-64) in the Gwangju area is 458,903, accounting for 32.3% of the total population. The city is investing 1.642 billion KRW in projects to support a vibrant and fulfilling second act of life for the middle-aged facing life transitions such as retirement, promoting 32 projects through the Bitgoeul 50+ Center and others.
Last October, a comprehensive platform, the Bitgoeul 50+ Portal, was established to provide a foundation for diverse information, and the Gwangju Middle-aged Technology Startup Center supports content company startups while the Gwangju Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute operates middle-aged education programs.
The 'Bitgoeul 50+ Center' plays a leading role in establishing middle-aged policies by providing over 16,000 customized integrated services such as retirement preparation counseling, work, leisure, and education, as well as linked services in cooperation with related organizations. This year, it has carried out 3,477 counseling services addressing various needs of the middle-aged generation, managed 993 members including 50+ portal registrations, provided 10,540 job recruitment information from various institutions, operated 21 branch programs with 559 participants, conducted 181 life transition education sessions for the middle-aged with 4,160 participants, and offered 252 Bitgoeul 50+ social contribution jobs.
