Busan Urban Corporation, Completion Ceremony of 'Maeum Ae Nanum Project with Architects' No. 18
Busan Metropolitan City Corporation (BMC, President Shin Chang-ho) held a completion ceremony on the 10th for the facility improvement social contribution activity "Sharing Love Project - Architect and the Eighteenth House" at the Suyeong Regional Children's Center located in Suyeong-gu, in collaboration with the Busan City Architects Association.
The Suyeong Regional Children's Center, opened in 2003, is a small-scale local children's center with a capacity of 26 children. It serves as a second home for children in urgent care situations within the community, including multicultural families, recipients of government aid, grandparent-headed households, and foreign families.
The center provides various social welfare services such as daily life guidance, meals and snacks, and cultural experiences for children. However, due to aging facilities, the safety of the children's living environment and their right to study have been affected.
BMC sponsored 30 million KRW and, together with related organizations, carried out renovations on key living facilities within the center, including the kitchen, living room, group counseling room, and restrooms, creating a warm and comfortable space.
In particular, old aluminum and wooden window frames and doors, which were vulnerable to heating, cooling, and external noise, were remodeled. Through energy reinforcement work, the residential environment for the children was improved, achieving carbon reduction and enhanced residential welfare.
Since 2019, BMC has been working with the Busan City Architects Association on the "Sharing Love Project - Architect and the Eighteenth House" to improve the housing environment for vulnerable groups in the local community. Continuing from the previous year, the corporation participated in this project again this year to practice a culture of warm sharing for the improvement of citizens' residential welfare.
