The Namyangju Volunteer Center Successfully Concludes the Namyangju City Volunteer Grand Festival
Honor Awarded to Namyangju Headquarters of the Hangang Protection Movement
The Namyangju Volunteer Center (Chairman Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 9th that it held the ‘2024 Namyangju Volunteer Grand Festival’ on the 7th at the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center, where volunteers and citizens participated together.

View original imageThis event was organized to commemorate ‘Volunteer Day’ on the 5th and to honor the dedication of volunteers who have quietly devoted themselves throughout the year across Namyangju.
About 1,200 people, including Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, key guests, outstanding volunteers, and citizens, attended the event, brightening the festival.
The event began with a pre-performance by model singer Hyowon, followed by performances from trot prodigy Lee Seung-yul and the traditional Korean music band ‘Arihyeon Band.’ An encore presentation of excellent cases was given by Kang Kyung-ae, the grand prize winner of the ‘2024 Volunteer Ignite in Namyangju.’
In addition, various awards were presented to 91 outstanding volunteers and organizations who served the local community. A gold badge was awarded to one volunteer with over 10,000 hours of service, silver badges to six volunteers with over 8,000 hours, and bronze badges to five volunteers with over 7,000 hours.
Notably, the grand prize of the Volunteer Grand Festival was awarded to the Hangang Protection Movement Namyangju Headquarters, the best organization award went to the Love Hairdressing Volunteer Group, and the best individual award was given to Jeon Min-ho of the EBC Military Police Volunteer Corps.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, “The 740,000 citizens of Namyangju feel pride and honor thanks to the heroic citizens, our volunteers,” and added, “I sincerely express my respect and gratitude to all volunteers, the treasures of Namyangju.”

As of March, the number of registered volunteers in Namyangju surpassed 200,000, and as of the end of November, 204,586 people, accounting for 27.9% of the total citizens, are registered volunteers actively engaging in various volunteer activities throughout Namyangju.
