Incheon Namdong-gu, Incheon Dongbu Elementary School Designated as 'Dementia Overcoming Leading School'
Namdong-gu, Incheon announced on the 9th that Incheon Dongbu Elementary School has been designated as a 'Dementia Overcoming Leading School' to prepare a coexistence society centered around schools where people live together with dementia.
When designated as a Dementia Overcoming Leading School, students and faculty receive education to better understand dementia and improve dementia awareness, actively participating in dementia overcoming activities such as caring for dementia patients and paying attention to wandering elderly.

View original imageAccordingly, 3rd and 4th grade students at Dongbu Elementary recently received brain health education conducted by the 'Incheon Value Together Sangnok Volunteer Group.' This education is a dementia partner program adapted to the students' level based on Incheon’s education policy brand Read·Walk·Write, covering topics such as ▲What the brain does ▲Creating a healthy brain ▲Understanding the feelings of dementia patients.
Upon completion of the education, participants can become warm companions in the community who care for dementia patients and their families as dementia partners.
