KakaoBank Launches 'Walk Daily and Get Benefits' Program
Prize Money Awarded Upon Mission Completion
KakaoBank announced on the 9th that it will launch a service called 'Walk Daily and Get Benefits,' which provides cash rewards to customers who complete walking missions.
This service is a pedometer-type app-tech service that offers cash rewards based on the number of steps taken within a specified period through the KakaoBank application (app). Customers aged 7 and above who hold a KakaoBank deposit or mini account can use the service.
The service can be accessed by clicking 'Agree and Start' on the 'Walk Daily and Get Benefits' page under the Benefits tab in the app. Through the service page, users can find various helpful exercise information such as today's step count, distance traveled, calories burned, and daily average steps, along with meeting the 'Chunsik-i character.'
The missions are divided into two types: 'Daily Mission' and 'Weekly Mission.' The 'Daily Mission' is completed when 1,000 steps, 4,000 steps, or 8,000 steps are achieved by midnight each day. Rewards of 3 won, 5 won, and 10 won are provided respectively, allowing users to earn up to 18 won per day.
The 'Weekly Mission' can be joined by clicking the 'Complete Marathon by Walking' button. If a total distance of 42.195 km is achieved within a week, users receive 42 won. The 42.195 km distance corresponds to walking 8,000 steps daily for 7 days. By walking 8,000 steps daily and completing both the 'Daily Mission' and 'Weekly Mission,' users can earn a total of 168 won per week.
Benefits earned by completing missions are immediately deposited into the main account. Users can also boast about their 'Today's Step Count' and 'Mission Results' on social networking services (SNS) using the sharing feature.
