Gyeonggi-do Wins 'Top Excellence Award' in Ministry of Health and Welfare Regional Welfare Project Evaluation
Gyeonggi Province received the top award in the regional welfare project evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
On the 9th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it was selected as an excellent metropolitan government in two categories?‘Best in Regional Social Security Plan Evaluation’ and ‘Excellence in Social Service Agency Operation Support’?in the ‘2024 Regional Welfare Project Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.
The regional welfare project evaluation is an assessment by the Ministry of Health and Welfare aimed at discovering exemplary cases among local governments’ regional welfare projects nationwide and encouraging local governments that have contributed to the welfare improvement of local residents.
The Regional Social Security Plan Evaluation is a system that selects local governments with excellent processes from the establishment of annual implementation plans to the results of implementation for the mid- to long-term regional social security plans conducted every four years. Gyeonggi Province was selected as the best metropolitan local government and has been named an excellent institution for five consecutive years since 2020.
In this evaluation, Gyeonggi Province received high marks for its close, customized support to enhance the solid foundation of residents’ lives, including ▲expansion of Gyeonggi Province-type emergency welfare targets ▲operation of the emergency welfare hotline (010-4419-7722) ▲operation of the Financial Welfare Support Center for low-income citizens ▲strengthening the community care support system through programs such as ‘360° Care’ and ‘Senior Counseling Project’ ▲and distinctive social security policies such as providing opportunities to prepare for the future of youth.
