On the 6th, Guro-gu held the 9th Guro Eorininarah General Assembly and Festival at the auditorium on the 5th floor of the district office.
Guro Eorininarah is a special educational platform where children can directly establish a virtual country, enact a constitution, and hold elections, thereby experiencing national governance and learning about democracy.
Since April, the 9th Guro Eorininarah committee members have been engaged in various activities such as general elections, field trips, and agenda meetings. This event was organized to conclude their activities for the year.
The event was held in two parts, the first being the general assembly and the second the festival, with about 150 attendees including 89 committee members of the 9th Guro Eorininarah, their families, and friends.
During the first part, the general assembly began with a greeting from Acting Mayor Eom Uisik of Guro-gu, followed by presentations and deliberations on six agenda items proposed by each committee: △ Additional sessions for unique experiential learning (Education Committee) △ Installation of reflective mirrors in blind spots (Traffic Safety Committee) △ Expansion of sports day and arts festival (Culture and Sports Committee) △ Education, promotion, and strict penalties for no-smoking zones (Food Hygiene Committee) △ Creation of a barrier-free integrated playground in Guro-gu (Human Rights and Welfare Committee) △ Addition of signs prohibiting electronic cigarettes and messages against cigarette butt littering in no-smoking zones (Environment Committee).
The ‘Additional Sessions for Unique Experiential Learning’ proposed by the Education Committee was selected by the highest number of votes from the committee members. The approved agenda items will be forwarded to relevant institutions for review.
In the second part, attendees watched a video of the 9th Guro Eorininarah’s activities, wrote hope postcards containing suggestions for improvement, and shared their impressions. The event concluded with a talent show and quiz competition, fostering camaraderie among the committee members.
A Guro-gu official stated, “This event was a meaningful time for children to reflect on their achievements over the year, encourage each other’s efforts, and strengthen unity. We will continue to do our best to provide various activities where children’s voices can shine.”
