A tourist was electrocuted and died by a streetlight in Phuket, a representative tourist destination in Thailand.
On the 8th, local media including the Bangkok Post reported that on the night of the 5th, a 33-year-old man from Myanmar living in New York, USA, collapsed and died in the city of Phuket in southern Thailand. According to eyewitnesses, the man was walking on a rain-soaked street to go to a restaurant and grabbed a nearby streetlight to avoid slipping and falling, but was electrocuted. When he collapsed, people nearby removed him from the streetlight and performed CPR. He was immediately taken to the hospital but eventually passed away.

Local media pointed out that this accident has raised serious concerns about infrastructure maintenance and public safety in the Phuket area, especially during rainy and humid weather.
