View original imageAfter the vote at the National Assembly plenary session on the 7th, Ahn told reporters, "Yesterday, I told the President two things," adding, "I asked him to present, before the vote, the timing of his voluntary resignation and a plan for governing the country."
He continued, "This morning, I entrusted all of that to the party, and the party had the obligation to provide answers on these two matters before today's vote. They have the duty to explain not to me, but to the people," and questioned, "But the party failed to explain these in a timely manner. How many people could accept that?"
Ahn addressed the lawmakers who abstained from voting, saying, "Each member of the National Assembly is a constitutional institution," and "According to the Constitution and the National Assembly Act, even if there is a party line, exercising one's voting rights according to personal conviction takes precedence." He added, "In that sense, I faithfully fulfilled my duties as a constitutional institution and voted according to my convictions in accordance with the National Assembly Act."
