Uijeongbu-si, Enjoy Special Cultural Events on the Light Rail During Year-End and New Year
Operating 'Carol Journey on Uijeongbu Light Rail' Every Friday Evening
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 6th that it will hold a cultural event called "Carol Journey on the Uijeongbu Light Rail" to create a warm social atmosphere for Christmas and the year-end and New Year holidays.
In cooperation with local community organizations Uijeongbu Citizen Sympathy and Woojin Metro Co., Ltd., the event will be held at the Hoeryong Station platform of the light rail on the 6th, 13th, and 20th (every Friday) from 7 PM for about one hour.
This event is a project based on the voluntary cultural participation of local residents, including singer Bini Saem, who is the promotional ambassador of Uijeongbu City. It was prepared so that the Uijeongbu Light Rail can establish itself as an important platform where local residents can enjoy culture and arts in their daily lives beyond being a simple means of transportation.
At the event venue, performers such as ▲ Bini Saem ▲ Gaon Classic, composed of members with developmental disabilities ▲ Soriul Citizen Choir ▲ Little Banhan Classic ▲ Harmonica Gems Art ▲ Saxophonist Choi Byung-jae ▲ Soprano Han Maru ▲ Junior members of the Korea Dance Arts Association ▲ Guitarist Kang Seon-gon ▲ Soprano Go Da-eun will present a rich stage themed around carols.
In particular, the city will decorate the interior of the Hoeryong Station platform of the Uijeongbu Light Rail with a splendid light tree so that the light rail can become a new landmark of the region.
