Bongsan Talchum is a representative Korean mask dance registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It is characterized by vivid and elegant costume colors, larger dance movements, and a wider range of motion compared to other mask dances, making it very dynamic.
The performance will include not only the humorous and satirical Bongsan Talchum but also celebratory performances. Gugak Electronic Traveling Troupe is a young gugak group that adds modern EDM beats to lively traditional Korean melodies, presenting exciting music. Through the harmony of tradition and modernity, they plan to showcase a new charm of gugak.
A museum official said, "This performance is a meaningful occasion for citizens to directly experience the precious value of traditional culture and share it with the local community," adding, "We hope this event will relieve the stress accumulated throughout the year and become a time for all the audience to share laughter and emotion together."
