Yangsan-si, Excellent in Inspection of General Water Supply Business Operation and Management
Proving High-Quality Water Supply Services and Competitive Water Supply System Development
Yangsan City Water and Sewerage Office in Gyeongnam was selected as ‘Excellent’ in the 2024 General Waterworks Operation and Management Inspection conducted over seven months since April.
This inspection process involved submission of local government data through a computerized system, on-site evaluation and data disclosure verification by the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, and a final evaluation by the Ministry of Environment.
As a result of the evaluation, our city was rated higher than the average score in 13 categories including securing professional operation personnel, performance in upgrading aging pipelines, compliance with faucet water quality standards, and tap water quality management, enabling us to be selected as ‘Excellent’ this year following last year’s progress award.
Additionally, in October, the city was recognized for various achievements such as establishing a modern tap water supply system, continuous expansion of water and sewerage facilities, and creation of water supply environment infrastructure, and was selected as the ‘2024 Best Water Management Institution’ hosted by Environment Times.
