View original imageThe meeting was organized to discuss practical countermeasures for fire prevention in response to increasing public anxiety over electric vehicle charging facilities following a series of recent accidents.
Based on a comprehensive report from the Climate Carbon Division, the meeting reviewed key initiatives underway by each department and discussed measures to prevent major accidents.
As a comprehensive response plan to prevent electric vehicle fires, Gwangju City plans to distribute fire response manuals for electric vehicles in apartment complexes and public facilities and to expand fire suppression equipment for electric vehicles.
Additionally, the city intends to conduct safety education for fire safety managers, carry out joint inspections and thorough investigations of electric vehicle charging facilities (284 locations within the jurisdiction), and make every effort to proactively prevent fires.
