At the performance conference, awards were given to outstanding institutions and meritorious individuals, project achievements were presented, and best practices were shared.

In particular, as a specialized project this year, excellent cases from five health centers including Deogyang-gu in Goyang City and Gwangju City, which successfully carried out the ‘Confident Health Walking Campaign,’ ‘Senior Companion Walking Project,’ and ‘AI Robot Utilization Senior Health Management Project,’ were presented to provide an opportunity for sharing and communication among health centers.

The province worked to create an environment encouraging walking through the ‘Confident Health Walking Campaign’ jointly promoted by the province and cities/counties. The ‘Senior Companion Walking Project,’ which provided programs such as correct walking and basic muscle strengthening, showed a 7.9 percentage point increase in moderate physical activity from 3.29 days before to 3.55 days after the program among 466 participants surveyed.

The ‘AI Robot Utilization Senior Health Management Project’ is a program that distributes AI health management robots to 1,000 health-vulnerable elderly living alone to provide non-face-to-face health management services. A survey of 455 elderly people who used the robots for five months showed that the depression index decreased from 2 out of 5 points in the pre-robot use survey to 1.6 afterward. Life satisfaction increased from 3.2 points before to 3.6 points after. The insomnia scale, which indicates sleep quality, decreased from 2.3 points before to 1.9 points after.

At the Governor’s Commendation Ceremony for meritorious individuals, nine outstanding institutions, three public officials, and twelve civilians who worked hard to promote the health of local residents were honored.

Yoo Young-cheol, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Health and Wellness Bureau, said, “I express my gratitude to the health center staff who worked hard throughout the year to promote the health of the residents, and going forward, Gyeonggi Province will continue to take great interest in health promotion projects and do its best to ensure these projects are activated.”
