Ulju-gun Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for Excellence in Improving Welfare and Safety Services in Eup, Myeon, and Dong Areas
Ulsan Ulju-gun announced on the 2nd that it received the Minister of the Interior and Safety’s Institutional Commendation at the ‘2024 Eup-Myeon-Dong Welfare and Safety Service Improvement Best Practices’ competition.
This award was given in recognition of the achievements of the ‘Hope Delivery Check-in Care Project,’ selected as a 2024 Ministry of the Interior and Safety public contest project, contributing to the expansion of public-private cooperation, discovery and management of welfare blind spots, and implementation of related measures.
The Hope Delivery Check-in Care Project was conducted through an agreement with the Post Office Public Foundation, Ulsan and Nam Ulsan Post Offices, Ulju Food Bank Market, and Ulsan Community Chest of Korea.
Since May, delivery workers have provided follow-up care by delivering daily necessities and checking on 170 households at high risk of solitary death, who are under intensive management, twice a month.
In addition, Ulju-gun is leading efforts to prevent solitary deaths through the Ulju-type Solitary Death Prevention Project, which includes △ AI Check-in Call Project for Single-Person Households △ AI Speaker Support Project △ Case Management for Middle-aged Single-Person Households △ Happiness Filling Organizing and Storage Support Project △ Happy Village Care Project △ Check-in Confirmation Project for Elderly Living Alone, among others.
