Pocheon City Council Opens the 183rd 2nd Regular Session

Scheduled Processing of the 2025 Budget Proposal and Others

The Pocheon City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Im Jong-hoon) held the 183rd 2nd regular session on the 2nd and began a 15-day agenda until the 16th.

This regular session is scheduled to handle agenda items such as budget proposals and ordinances, as well as conduct questions regarding city administration.

First, before deliberating on the main session agenda, 5-minute free speeches were delivered by Councilmembers Kim Hyun-gyu and Son Se-hwa. Kim Hyun-gyu addressed the proliferation of events around the Hantangang River area, while Son Se-hwa emphasized responsible administration by Pocheon City.

During the main session that day, after the executive branch presented explanations on the 3rd supplementary budget proposal for 2024 and the budget proposal for 2025, the council deliberated and approved 10 agenda items, including the formation of a special budget and settlement committee to review and approve these budgets.

In particular, the councilmembers plan to conduct in-depth reviews in the special budget and settlement committee, which is scheduled to deliberate on the 3rd supplementary budget proposal to close the 2024 fiscal year and the main budget for 2025 projects, focusing on the appropriateness of project plans and the expected effects of project implementation to ensure stable and efficient financial management.

Chairman Im Jong-hoon stated in his opening remarks, “With not much time left in 2024, this temporary session is very important as a time to review the major achievements of this year's projects and to thoroughly examine the key tasks for next year to promote efficient policy implementation,” adding, “I ask for active interest and cooperation so that the will of the citizens is fully reflected and better policy proposals can be incorporated.”
