Carrot and Seoul City Sign Business Agreement for a "Lonely-Free Seoul"
Establishing Public-Private Partnership System to Solve Isolation Issues
Local lifestyle community Danggeun announced on the 2nd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul Metropolitan Government for a "Seoul Without Loneliness."
This agreement was promoted as a follow-up measure to the "Comprehensive Plan for a Seoul Without Loneliness" announced by the Seoul Metropolitan Government on October 21. Aiming for a "Seoul where no one is lonely," the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Welfare Foundation, and nine private companies and organizations joined forces to address issues of loneliness and social isolation. Each party will mutually cooperate in three areas: ▲establishing a cooperative system to prevent loneliness among Seoul citizens ▲discovering and supporting socially isolated and reclusive households ▲improving public awareness and promoting campaigns regarding loneliness and social isolation.
Danggeun will leverage the strengths of its local lifestyle community to focus on revitalizing local-based gatherings and planning and promoting challenges. By supporting various local and thematic community activities such as Danggeun "Meetings," it plans to encourage social participation of socially isolated and reclusive households and help them naturally connect with the local community. Additionally, it will work to improve negative perceptions of loneliness and social isolation and raise awareness of these issues as social challenges.
