‘Descendants of Shaolin’ Compete in Skills... 1st Mapo District Mayor's Cup Wushu Tournament Held
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the site of the '1st Mapo District Mayor's Wushu Competition' held on the morning of November 30 at Mangwon Nadeulmok Gymnasium.
Wushu refers to traditional Chinese martial arts.
The competition, hosted by Mapo District and the Mapo District Sports Council and organized by the Mapo District Wushu Association, was attended by about 100 participants including student and adult divisions.
On this day, Mayor Park Gang-su attended the opening ceremony, awarded commendations to contributors to community sports, and marked the start of the Wushu competition with an oath from the representative athletes.
Additionally, a Taijiquan demonstration was performed at the opening ceremony, capturing the attention of the spectators.
In the matches that followed, the athletes passionately displayed the skills they had honed through training, showing their fighting spirit and pride as martial artists.
