Pocheon City Wins Excellence Award at National Forest Road Facilities Best Practice Competition
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 29th that it won the "Excellence Award" at the "2024 National Forest Road Facility Best Practice Competition" hosted by the Korea Forest Service.

View original imageEvery year, the Korea Forest Service holds an evaluation competition for best practices targeting local governments nationwide and institutions under the Korea Forest Service to share forest road technologies and establish eco-friendly forest roads.
Pocheon City was selected as a best practice through document screening and on-site evaluation and received the Excellence Award at the "National Forest Road Officials Workshop."
The subject forest road is a newly constructed forest road in 2023 located at San 76 and one other lot in Simgok-ri, Sinbuk-myeon, Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province, boasting a total route length of 1.55 km.

A Pocheon City official stated, "By utilizing the forest road, we plan to respond quickly to forest disasters such as wildfires and pest control, engage in forest management and administration, and provide a better forest recreation environment for citizens by hosting walking competitions."
