View original imageOn the 28th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Byeong-no) announced that it held the Dementia Safety Volunteer Corps inauguration ceremony on the 27th.
The Dementia Safety Volunteer Corps was organized as part of the ‘Hyangchon Welfare’ pledge of the 8th local government administration to create a dementia-friendly community atmosphere where dementia patients and their families can live safely without leaving their hometowns.
The volunteer corps, centered around two organizations?the Damyang-gun Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit?which have been leading efforts to overcome dementia since last year through dementia awareness education and simulated training for missing elderly dementia patients, will serve as dementia safety guardians in the community by checking on the well-being of elderly dementia patients.
