Yeoju Apples and Pears Widely Recognized for Quality Excellence
Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 28th that it achieved excellent results, including winning the grand prize, at the Gyeonggi-do Apple and Pear Contest held on the 25th, organized by the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services.

View original imageIn the pear category, farmer Ko Nam-jong (Ganan-eup) won the highest honor, the grand prize, while in the apple category, farmer Kwak Yoon-ho (Daeshin-myeon) was awarded the encouragement prize.
This Gyeonggi-do Apple and Pear Contest selected winners through both quantitative evaluations such as sugar content and fruit weight, and qualitative evaluations including shape, coloration, and taste, among apples and pears produced by farmers in Gyeonggi-do.
Seo Man-yong, Income Technology Team Leader of the Technology Extension Division, said, “Despite the challenging weather conditions such as abnormal high temperatures this year, fruit farmers have proven the excellent quality of apples and pears.”
